  3. Have fun with this complete working environment for NET/Mac and IM/Mac.

  5. NET/Mac is the TCP/IP application that should be running (if possible)
  6. 24 hours a day, while IM/Mac is the mailer that you can use to read
  7. incoming mail and/or write outgoing mail.
  8.  
  9. This stuff is intended for those that are going to set up a hamradio-
  10. station with a Macintosh and a transceiver. The connection between the
  11. transceiver and the Mac may be accomplished by using a TNC (terminal node
  12. controller) which supports the KISS protocol, or by using a PacketMac modem
  13. as described in one of the files inside the SoftKiss folder. In this case
  14. you also have to install the SoftKiss software. I myself don't have this
  15. PacketMac modem, nor do I use SoftKiss, so I am afraid I cannot assist you
  16. setting this up...

  18. The only thing you need besides this software and the hardware I just
  19. told you about is an IP-number. Without an IP-number you cannot (should
  20. not) activate your TCP/IP station. You must ask for an IP-number at your
  21. local/national IP-number coordinator. Ask around to find out who he/she is,
  22. and how to get a number.

  24. NOTE that the files autoexec.net, hosts.net, ftpusers, alias and bm.rc
  25. are my own configurationfiles, or just examples. Please don't put the
  26. transmitter 'on air' while using these files.
